Show tomorrow night!

Posted in awesomeness, cheap plugs for my friends, local scene stuff on June 16, 2009 by kiefda03

June 16th (that’s tomorrow!) at Charm City Art Space; Dead Mechanical, Canadian Rifle, Daylight Robbery, and the Skanarchists are playin’!  Doors open at 7pm, shouldn’t be over $10 at the door. Come on down! It’s got all the charm of a frat basement with none of the frattitude!

Canadian Rifle and Daylight Robbery have been featured on this very podcast recently, and they’re both great. Check ‘em out in their respective episodes, or search them out on Myspace. They’re both from Chicago, so it would behoove you, from a karmic standpoint, to come out tomorrow night and kick ‘em a little gas money.

late update!

Sorry this one’s late, folks (assuming there’s more than one person listening); I was busy last night and didn’t get back until around 2am, at which point my contact lenses demanded out.

Also, this weekend is Hon Fest! in Baltimore’s delightful Hampden neighborhood. Come on by and get your hair teased into a beehive while fat rednecks and their heavily tattooed wives drop funnel cake sugar all over you!

Here’s the podcast! (look for the flashing red arrow!)

Playlist:**

canadian rifle – climbing down from the crane
hasil adkins – no more hot dogs
the skunks – earthquake shake
nux vomica – empty out the parking meters
bayonettes – dead end kids
red dons – room 322
grabbag – i love black people
paul and storm – the captain’s wife’s lament

**yes, there are only 8 songs this time. Don’t worry, there’ll be 10 next week; I miscounted when I was putting the playlist together.

Here we go again! Saw one of the bands in this week’s playlist – Control DC – at Charm City Art Space on Thursday night and they rocked. No Minion, Boiling Over, and Sick Fix also played, and they were great. Well, the first two were – I didn’t get to see Sick Fix because I had a bus to catch, but they’re good too.

There’s another good show coming up on June 16th at CCAS; Dead Mechanical, Canadian Rifle, Daylight Robbery (featured in tonight’s playlist), and the Skanarchists are playing, and they will pump funk in the cracks and possibly cut wax with an axe. Or something.
